Doug Watson has over 22 years law enforcement experience with 21 years at a city police department where he retired from at the rank of Captain. Doug began his career in patrol operations and was selected to the department's Special Enforcement Team which was a full-time drug interdiction unit. In 2005 Doug was selected for the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team and was named “Top Operator” of his SWAT Basic class. During his time on SWAT he was involved in hundreds of tactical operations to include high risk warrant services, armed barricade subjects, hostage rescues, and VIP protection. He became the lead instructor for the regional SWAT Basic school and in 2010 Doug was appointed SWAT Commander which he held until he retired from the police department in 2022. He continued his service with a sheriff’s office where he was appointed as Commander of the Special Response Team (SRT) and continues to work there full-time as a deputy. When off-duty, Doug is an avid practitioner of carrying concealed weapons (CCW) and enjoys teaching responsible citizens how to properly carry and use guns for personal protection.
